Our services are quite simple! For a small membership/subscription fee, we
will deliver a daily pre-recorded educational voice message
(approximately 1 to 2 minutes in length) to the telephone number
and at the time of the day chosen by you. Each member will
receive messages 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, including
holidays. No messages are sent on Saturdays or Sundays. Over the
course of an annual membership, that’s 260 tidbits of
educational information carefully crafted to hoist both you and
your education!
The voice
messages will contain educational information as follows: on
Monday, the voice message will contain the HOIST edYOUcation
Word of the Week; on
Tuesday, the voice message will contain the
HOIST edYOUcation History Nugget of the Week; on
Wednesday, the
voice message will contain the HOIST edYOUcation
Inspirational
Quote of the Week; on Thursday, the voice message will contain
the HOIST edYOUcation Science Snippet of the Week; and on
Friday, the voice message will contain the HOIST edYOUcation
Word of the Weekend.
Let’s face it, in the
real time information age we live in, we are inundated daily
with more written information than our poor and tired eyes and
brains can possibly process. Newspapers, reports, mail,
homework, spreadsheets, e-mails, study guides, text messages,
magazines – you name it, and we bet you have three or four of
these awaiting your time while you read this sentence.
At HOIST
edYOUcation, we take a different approach to information
delivery. For starters, our members usually fit one of two broad
categories, either the member is an adult looking to refresh and
polish information learned or maybe missed during formative
education in order that the information may be used in his or
her current stage of life, or, the member is a student looking
to hoist the member’s education above his or her current
educational grade level or beyond that of his or her peers as a
way to stay ahead of the curve. Because of this, our members are
naturally busy doing other things, be it office work, homework,
school work, or just living their daily lives.
With our members in mind, we’ve tailored our pre-recorded
educational voice message services to meet their needs and
schedules, as well as our educational philosophy, in four
important ways:
1. We
believe that in an overbearing written information world, our
brains welcome and actually absorb spoken information better
than ever. Therefore, our messages are delivered directly to the
ears of our members via the telephone (mobile phone or land
line) of their choice.
2. Because our members are busy, we believe that their ability to
internalize new or polished knowledge requires that the messages
be short and manageable. Therefore, we design our messages to be
1 to 2 minutes in length. This total length includes having the
substance of the information repeated once during the message.
3. Our
intent is to hoist multiple facets of our members’ education to
best balance and diversify learning by keeping subject matter
new and fresh. Therefore, our messages are in the varying
categories of vocabulary, history, inspirational quotes, and
science.
4. Did I
mention that our members are busy and important people? Again,
because of this, our members can elect to receive their messages
to the telephone or mobile phone and at the time of day that is
convenient to their schedules, and, if our members are still too
busy to answer the call, we deliver the message to their voice
mailbox or answering machine, where they can receive the message
at a more convenient time.
Our members
value education. We understand this, and, as a result, much
thought goes into the development of the information contained
in our educational voice messages. We develop and deliver
information that we deem practical and useful in hoisting the
education of our members, which in turn, will enhance our
members in school or at work and in conversations with peers.
